Winnipeg Man Arrested Sunday Also Wanted for 2014 Robbery

WINNIPEG – Police arrested a man who tried to steal a vehicle on Sunday and who was wanted for stealing medication back on August 20th of 2014.

The man entered a medical centre on August 20, 2014, in the 800 block of Portage Avenue after midnight. He broke a window in order to gain entry to the building and stole an undisclosed amount of medication.

Police say forensic testing of evidence recovered at the scene identified a suspect.

On Sunday morning a man tried to enter the rear of a home in the 400 block of Burrows Avenue where a victim was seated inside his vehicle. The man approached the driver’s door, opened it and threatened the driver. A short struggle ensued and the victim yelled for help. Family members came and the man took off.

Later the same day, at 1:00 PM, the man went to the rear of a business in the 1600 block of Main Street and damaged an electrical outlet. Police spotted the suspect and took him into custody.

Fabian Scott Mason, a 39-year-old man from Winnipeg, has been charged with:

– Mischief Under $5,000/Obstruct in Enjoyment
