Winnipeg Man Defrauds 8 Veterinary Hospitals

WINNIPEG – A Winnipeg man has been arrested for defrauding eight Veterinary hospitals between May 2017 and August 2018.

Police believe that the suspect would bring a number of dogs to the clinics and ask for medical treatment for the animals under a false name. When he was asked to pay he would either adjust a point of sale machine or leave without paying.

It is believed that the suspect was raising dogs for sale.

The total amount of losses to the businesses is estimated at approximately $5,220.

On December 9, 2018, a male suspect turned himself in at the HQ building.

29 year-old Hazem Nafez Alsaadi has been charged with 8 counts of fraud and is held in custody.
