WINNIPEG – A man is dead following a Winnipeg house fire in the Maples early Saturday morning.

Firefighters and emergency crews responded to the fire at 46 Martell Crescent around 10:30 AM.

Officials have told media when crews arrived at the single-family-home flames were coming out of the basement windows.

Firefighters were aware of a person was trapped inside. They quickly entered the home for fire attack and entry and found the victim.

No further details of the victim or cause of fire at this time.
