PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE – A 38-year-old man from Winnipeg died in a single vehicle accident Thursday morning near Portage la Prairie.

RCMP said the single vehicle rollover on Highway 1 near Road 19W happened around 5:30AM.

When mounties arrived on scene they found a vehicle on its tires in the centre grass median. The driver and lone occupant, a 38-year-old man from Winnipeg, had been ejected and was located a short distance from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead on scene.

Police said they don’t believe a seatbelt was in use at the time of the rollover.
