Winnipeg Man Fails at Four Robbery Attempts

WINNIPEG, MB. – Winnipeg man arrested for multiple attempted robberies in the city on Saturday and an officer was injured.

December 2, around 10:45 a.m., police arrested 27-year-old Cory Roger Legault of Winnipeg for a series of 4 robberies that had occurred earlier that morning.

It all started around 9:20 a.m. that morning, with his face concealed, there was an attempted robbery of a bank located in the 1500 block of Regent Ave. West.

At approximately 9:35 a.m. another attempted robbery of a restaurant in the 1500 block of Regent Ave. West and again, he was not successful.

Then around 9:40 a.m. an attempted robbery of a liquor store located in the 1500 block of Regent Ave. West, again, he was not successful.

Later in the morning, approximately 10:35 a.m., another attempted robbery of a store located in the 400 block of William Ave., and once again, he was not successful.

Finally, around 10:45 a.m. Legault was spotted in the 400 block of William Ave by police and arrested.

A K-9 officer involved in tracking Legault was struck by an uninvolved passing motor vehicle during the search. The officer was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries where he was treated and released. The police dog was not injured.
