Winnipeg Police Charge Seven Men with Child Luring

WINNIPEG – Winnipeg police ran Project Hook recently that resulted in the arrest of seven men between the ages of 29-53. Each of the men were charged with Child Luring.

Police said in June 2018, Project Hook proactively targeted individuals luring children under the age of fourteen years for a sexual purpose. This was mainly done using a variety of internet sites, social media, and associated applications.

Investigations were initiated following Project Hook over the summer that resulted in the arrest of seven men. They have been charged with Child Luring and also face additional charges of:

  • Make Sexually Explicit Material Available to a Child X3
  • Invitation to Sexual Touching X2
  • CDSA Possess Methamphetamine
