Winnipeg Police K-9 Unit Finds Drugs in Stolen Vehicle

WINNIPEG – A man and woman are facing multiple drug and theft related charges after being stopped by police on Monday night.

Police say shortly after 8:00 PM they stopped a vehicle that had a stolen licence plate near Redwood Avenue and Main Street. Officers discovered the vehicle had been stolen on July 4th from East St. Paul and the licence plate was stolen on July 15th from a vehicle in Winnipeg.

The K-9 unit was called in and went right to work indicating drugs were in the vehicle. A bag police located had the following items in it:

  • Stainless steel pellet gun with black plastic handle and steel magazine
  • 126 grams of Methamphetamine
  • 14 grams of powder cocaine
  • 49 Percocet’s
  • 67 alprazolam’s
  • 18 Hydromorphine pills
  • 7 omeprazole pills
  • Numerous packaging materials and scales

Erin Matthew Moar, a 23-year-old man from Winnipeg has been charged with:

  • Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  • Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking X4
  • Possess Weapon
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order X2

A 23-year-old woman from Winnipeg has been charged with:

  • Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  • Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking X4
  • Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Possess Weapon
