Winnipeg Police Make Arrest in Valentines Day Assault

WINNIPEG – Police have made an arrest in conjunction with a Valentine’s Day assault on Maryland Street.

Police said on February 14, just before midnight, two men went to a house party in an apartment in the 700 block of Maryland Street. The man became physical the victim. During the fight, the accused armed himself with a knife and used it to inflict multiple injuries to the victim.

The victim was able to get free from the suite and went to a business where emergency services was called. Winnipeg Police found the victim in medical distress from multiple injuries to his upper body. he was taken to HSC for treatment.

The accused, Brandon HUNTER, a 24-year old male of Winnipeg, Manitoba was arrested and charged with the following:

Aggravated Assault

Possession of a Weapon

HUNTER was remanded into custody.
