WINNIPEG, MB. – A Winnipeg police officer has been charged with impaired driving by Manitoba RCMP.

Last year on November 20, around 8:30 am, Headingley RCMP saw an individual parked on the shoulder of the eastbound lanes of the Trans-Canada Highway, just west of Headingley.

Police said they spoke with the lone occupant, who was seated in the driver’s seat. Police arrested the man for impaired care and control and taken to the Headingley RCMP Detachment, where he refused to provide a breath sample.

Today, Leslie McRae, a Winnipeg Police Officer, was charged with Refuse to Provide a Breath Sample and Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle while Impaired. He was off-duty at the time of the arrest.
