WINNIPEG – A Winnipeg Police Officer was injured after begin rammed by a 2010 Black GMC Sierra.
The driver of the vehicle, which was stolen from Toshack Road in East St. Paul between July 8th and 9th, damaged a few police units before finally being stopped and arrested.
Monday just before 2:00 PM, police located the stolen GMC on Sutherland Avenue. Police were able to identify the driver as he is known to police.
Officers, including the Tactical Support team, approached the stopped vehicle on Main Street. The driver of the stolen vehicle rammed a police vehicle, causing extensive damage. He then reversed around the cruiser and drove down the west sidewalk of Main Street. Tactical members attempted box in the stolen vehicle on the sidewalk, however the driver rammed another police vehicle, head on. That collision resulted in significant damages to both, the police and stolen vehicle.
Police managed to secure the area and arrest all four people in the vehicle, the male driver and three female passengers.
Police also found and seized the following items from the stolen vehicle:
- Sawed off 12 gauge shotgun with ammunition
- Sawed off 12 gauge shotgun
- Sawed off .22 caliber rifle
- A black replica handgun
- 35 grams methamphetamine
- Two working scales
Kenneth Micheal Clusiau, a 35-year-old man from Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations X3
- Possess Weapon X4
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle X3
- Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Fail to Comply with Recognizance x2
- Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Cause Bodily Harm
- Assault with a Weapon
- Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized X4
- Five separate arrest warrants for CLUSIAU were also executed at this time.
- Cheyenne Tasha BALLANTYNE, a 27-year-old female has been charged with:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle X3
- Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possess Weapon X4
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations X3
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized X4
Hailey Vanessa Lynn Regent, a 20-year-old woman from Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized X12
- Fail to Comply with Conditions of Recognizance X3
- Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations X3
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle X3
- Possession of Methamphetamine for Purposes of Trafficking
- Possess Weapon X4
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm X3
And, Stephanie Barbara Ann Hunter, a 28-year-old woman from Winnipeg has been charged with:
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations X3
- Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Possession of Methamphetamine for Purposes of Trafficking
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle X3
- Possess Weapon X4
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm X3
The injured officer was taken to hospital in stable condition. He was treated and later released.
