Winnipeg Police Seize Drugs & Weapons From a Home on Cathedral Avenue

WINNIPEG – Winnipeg Police executed a search warrant that resulted in three people being arrested and a number of weapons and drugs seized.

Police said the warrant was for a home in the 500 block of Cathedral Avenue. Officers with the Street Crime Unit and the Tactical Team removed eight people from the home and seized the following items:

  • SKS assault rifle with 60 round magazine
  • Bolt-action 30-06 rifle
  • Bolt-action 25-06 rifle
  • Money counting machine
  • $560 Canadian Currency
  • Methamphetamine $300 street value
  • Percocet, $900 street value
  • Xanax pills
  • Working Scales
  • Packaging materials
  • Case of 3.08 ammunition

As a result, the following people were arrested and charged:

Ashley Louie Richard, 43-years-old, of Winnipeg was charged with:

  • CDSA 5.2 x 3 – Methamphetamine, Percocet, & Xanax
  • Possess Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized x 3
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Possess Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order x 6
  • Tampering with Serial Number of a Firearm
  • Possess Firearm knowing Serial Number has been Tampered
  • Possess Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
  • Possess Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 x 2
  • Fail to Comply Probation x 3
  • Warrant of Arrest x 2
  • Drive Prohibited

Geraldine Faye Richard, 44-years-old, of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

  • Possess Proper Obtained by Crime under $5,000 x 2
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device
  • Tampering with Serial Number of a Firearm
  • Possess Firearm knowing Serial Number has been Tampered
  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm x 3
  • Possess Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized x 3

A 31-year-old female from Winnipeg was arrested on 2 outstanding warrants of arrest.
