Routine Stop Leads to Multiple Charges

WINNIPEG, MB – A 27-year-old woman from Winnipeg who tried to evade police was caught and is facing several drug related charges.

Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop around 11:15 AM near Pacific Street and McPhillips Street, however, the vehicle left the area. Police followed the vehicle to Wellington Avenue and Arlington Street where it was found parked at the rear of a home. The suspect was seen fleeing down the back lane.

She was quickly taken into custody and was found with three bags containing approximately 3 ounces of methamphetamine (with a street value of $4,500). A small amount of Canadian currency was also seized.

Police said the vehicle was stolen during the morning of February 19 from Boyd Avenue. The vehicle also had stolen licence plates on it that had been taken from a vehicle overnight February 17 on Flora Avenue.

Police have charged Amanda Crystal Rose Munroe, a 27-year-old female with:

  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000.
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
