UPDATE: 21 Year Old Woman Has Died Following ATV Accident

UPDATE: St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP confirmed Wednesday that the 21-year-old female driver of the ATV in the collision on April 21, has died from her injuries.

WINNIPEG – A 21-year-old woman is in critical condition in hospital following a serious ATV collision on Saturday at 4:20PM.

St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP said the collision happened in a field off Provincial Road 27 East, just south of Provincial Road 33 North.

When officers arrived, paramedics were already providing care. Two females had been involved in the rollover of a side-by-side ATV. The 21-year-old driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital, where she remains in critical condition. The 20-year-old passenger was not injured. Both are from the area where the collision occurred.

Police said the passenger was wearing a seatbelt, the driver was not wearing one. The two women were not wearing a helmet and the ATV did have a roll cage.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision.
