WINNIPEG – Because of CoVid-19 travel restrictions, temporary foreign workers may not arrive on time or at all and local beekeepers are worried production could get cut in half. Some workers have arrived with the help of Global Affairs and the Canadian Honey Council but there are many more needed.

FOLK FEST CANCELLED

WINNIPEG – One of the summer’s biggest outdoor events has been cancelled. Organizers of the Winnipeg Folk Festival say the 47th annual event now won’t happen in July because of CoVid-19. Ticket refunds are available but the fest is hoping people might donate their ticket to help make sure the event happens in the future.

NO FINES YET, JUST WARNINGS

WINNIPEG – No tickets yet for violations of the CoVid-19 rules. Since Saturday, patrols have been at city parks and other public spaces making sure people are social distancing and so far so good. Officials did however issue a few dozen warnings. Hefty fines and time behind bars are both possibilities if people don’t listen.
